Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego and head cross country coach Jon Murray have been named the Mountain Region women's athlete of the year and women's coach of the year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association.

Kipyego won her third-straight NCAA Mountain Regional title and will try to become the first woman in NCAA history to win three NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Murray has led the Lady Raiders to new heights this season. The No. 9 Lady Raiders won its first Big 12 Championship and first NCAA Mountain Regional Championship behind Murray's coaching.

The Lady Raiders will look to continue its success on Mon., Nov. 24th, as they run at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
