LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's cross country star, Sally Kipyego, is once again recognized for her running performance. Kipeygo was nominated for the 2007 Cross Country Honda Sports Award, announced Tuesday by the Collegiate Women Sports Award, sponsored by Honda.

The winner will be decided by nationwide voting among NCAA member schools and will receive the Honda Sports Award for cross country and also become a nominee for The Honda-Broderick Cup awarded, given annually to the nation's outstanding collegiate woman athlete of the year.

Kipyego is one of four female athletes to be nominated this year. Other runners include: Jenny Barringer (Colorado), Susan Kuijken (Florida State) and Diane Nukuri (Iowa).

In addition to the honor of this selection, American Honda will donate $1,000 to the women's athletic fund of each nominee's university. The winner's program will receive $5,000, which will be announced Tues. Dec. 4. The Honda Sports Award winners in the 12 sports are nominees for The Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year with the winner receiving The Honda-Broderick Cup.
