Eleven new Red Raiders join Texas Tech squad that finished 46-14 last year

LUBBOCK, Texas - The 1997 Texas Tech baseball recruiting class was ranked 25th in the nation by Collegiate Baseball in the publication's October 10, 1997 issue. Other Big 12 Conference schools included in the nation's top-30 recruiting classes included Texas (No. 2), Oklahoma State (No. 6) and Texas A&M (No. 23).

The 11 new members will be added to a Red Raider team that finished 46-14, won the Big 12 Conference regular season title and hosted a baseball regional for the second year in a row. Included in Tech's group are four pitchers, three true freshmen and seven junior college transfers. Tech tied for the second-most signed junior college athletes among the top-30 recruiting classes.
