Texas Tech Routs Eastern New Mexico 17-2
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Grand Slam home runs by Chris Shuffield in the second inning and by Rick Nadeau in the fifth inning propelled the Red Raiders to a 17-2 romp over Eastern New Mexico Tuesday.
The Raiders used 20 players including five pitchers in collecting 18 hits and improved their record to 3-1.
Brandon Toro and Jess Olivares worked a double steal with Toro scoring in the second, which also fetured a two-run by Dillon.
Tech pushed across four runs in the fourth and added six more in the fifth.
Tech's next home series will be Friday and Saturday (3 p.m. start both days) and Sunday (12:30) start against Southern Illinois.
