Huth Leads Red Raiders Past West Texas A&M
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech exploded for six runs in the seventh inning to break open a tight game en route to a 10-4 victory over West Texas A&M today.
Jason Huth led the Red Raiders (11-1) by going 2-for-4 with a triple, inside-the-park home run and three RBI. Huth's home run was his first of the season.
Jason Landreth, Brandon Buckley and Joe Smith all had two hits apiece for the Red Raiders, while Keith Ginter and Jess Oliveras each contributed two RBI.
Shane Wright (2-0) started and got the win for Texas Tech. Wright went seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on 10 hits, while walking none and striking out nine.
The Red Raiders, who were coming off a 27-7 victory over West Texas A&M (4-3) a day earlier, will next travel to the University of Texas for a three-game series this weekend (Mar. 7-9).
