Texas Tech Defeats West Texas A&MLUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech exploded for six runs in the seventh inning to break open a tight game en route to a 10-4 victory over West Texas A&M today. Jason Huth led the Red Raiders by going 2-for-4 with a triple, inside-the-park home run and three RBI. Huth's home run was his first of the season. Jason Landreth, Brandon Buckley and Joe Smith all had two hits apiece for the Red Raiders, while Keith Ginter and Jess Oliveras each contributed two RBI. Shane Wright (2-0) started and got the win for Texas Tech. Wright went seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on 10 hits, while walking none and striking out nine.
