Dillon Goes Deep Again to Lead Texas Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas - Joe Dillon crushed his seventh home run of the year, a three-run shot in the fifth inning, to lead Texas Tech to a 7-2 victory over West Texas A&M.
Texas Tech, which pounded out 11 hits, picked up two hits apiece from Keith Ginter, Jason Landreth, Brandon Toro and Josh Bard.
Starting pitcher Jimmy Frush (1-1) picked up the win for the Red Raiders, allowing just one unearned run in seven innings of work. Frush scattered four hits, while walking three and striking out 10. In the process, Frush lowered his ERA from 12.91 to 6.75.
Joe Smith came on to pitch the final two innings to earn the save.
Texas Tech (14-2) will host West Texas A&M (4-7) again tomorrow night. Game time is 7 p.m.
