Red Raider Baseball Crushes College of Southwest, 31-3
LUBBOCK, Texas - Red Raider put up a football score with a 31-3 route over Collage of Southwest. The win elevates Texas Tech to 23-3 on the season, while College of South West drops to 11-15.
Texas Tech ended the game in the first inning with an 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning to go up 11-0. The Red Raiders expanded their lead in the bottom of the third inning with a three run inning to go up 14-1. In the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings Tech scored another 17 runs.
The bats were flying for the Red Raiders with 32 hits on the day with home runs by Kieth Ginter, Joe Dillon, and Shane Langen. Ginter finished the day 4-for-6 with three RBI, while Dillon sported a 4-for-6 outing with seven RBI. Langen finished 6-for-7 with three RBI.
Tech went with five pitchers throughout the day with Jimmy Frush for the start and the win. Monty Ward, Jeff Peck, Zach Stewart, and Jimmy Hooper account for the rest of the Red Raider pitchers to take the mound. They combined for 11 strike outs, and surrendering only two earned runs, both home runs.
