Top-Ranked Red Raiders Fall to OklahomaNORMAN, Okla. - The top two teams in the Big 12 squared off Saturday afternoon with Oklahoma defeating Texas Tech, 5-4. After a four hour and 39 minute rain delay, top-ranked Texas Tech started off the scoring in the third inning when Kevin Ginter's double scored Duane Price. The Sooners answered in the bottom of the inning and tied the score, 1-1. The Red Raiders retook the lead in the fourth when Price's single knocked in Jess Oliveras. Oklahoma grabbed its first lead of the game in the eighth, scoring two runs and leading 3-2. Texas Tech bounced back in the top of the ninth when Josh Bard's double scored Joe Dillon and Shane Langen. But it was not the Red Raider's day however, as the Sooners scored two more runs in the bottom of the inning to earn the win. The Red Raiders' Zach Stewart, who came on in relief in the ninth, was the hard-luck loser and fell to 1-2. With the loss, Texas Tech falls to 40-6 on the season and has its eight game winning streak snapped. The two teams will play a noon doubleheader tomorrow in Norman.
