Top-Ranked Red Raiders Sweep Oklahoma
NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 1 Texas Tech baseball teams swept a pair of Big 12 Conference games from Oklahoma, 6-1 and 18-6, Sunday afternoon.
After dropping the first game of the series Saturday, the Red Raiders bounced back in the first game of the twin bill. Trailing 1-0, the Red Raiders' bats came alive in the fourth inning as Brandon Buckley tied the score by batting in Jason Landreth. Texas Tech went on to take the lead for good in the fifth as it scored two runs and led 3-1. The Red Raiders scored a run in the eighth and two in the ninth to put the game away.
The Red Raiders kept rolling in the nightcap, taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back. Down 11-1 in the seventh, the Sooners mounted a comeback, but it proved to be too little, too late, as the Red Raiders cruised to the 12-run victory.
Texas Tech will see its next action when it travels to Las Cruces, N.M. to take on New Mexico State for a pair of games April 29 and 30. Tuesday's game against the Aggies will begin at 8 p.m.
