Texas Tech Loses by a Safety

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma outslugged Texas Tech for the Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament championship, scoring seven runs in the eighth inning Sunday to take a 19-17 victory at All Sports Stadium.

Oklahoma (39-18) trailed 17-11 entering the top of the eighth inning when it erupted for seven runs against four Texas Tech pitchers.

Willy Hill drove in four runs for the Sooners, who had sent Texas Tech to the elimination bracket with a 5-3 victory on Friday.

Jason Landreth was 4-for-5 with four runs and three RBI for Texas Tech (46-12).

The Red Raiders won the regular season title and will host an NCAA Regional. Oklahoma is awarded the conference's automatic NCAA bid by virtue of its tournament championship.
