Shishir Bhakta begins his 13th year as the head manager for the Texas Tech baseball team and his sixth as a full-time employee. His responsibilities include equipment issue and maintenance, practice setup and various other gameday duties.

Bhakta is a Lubbock native and is a 2000 graduate of Lubbock High School where he played both football and baseball.

Over the past few summers, he has worked as an intern for the New York Jets of the National Football League.

He is the son of Ishwar and Kanchen Bhatka and has two younger sisters Yamini and Vepa. He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in exercise & sports science.
