Bryan Simpson begins his third season as the baseball athletic trainer at Texas Tech in 2016. Simpson was named an assistant athletic trainer at Tech on August 15, 2013.
Simpson, who worked with the Red Raider baseball program as a student athletic trainer in 2010, came back to Tech following three years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Abernathy High School (2010-11) and Levelland High School (2011-13) while working with each of the athletics programs.
During his two years at Levelland High School, Simpson served as the head athletic trainer for the football, boys basketball, girls basketball, volleyball, track and field and cross country teams along with baseball and softball. In addition, Simpson was the assistant baseball coach while at Levelland High School.
He started his career as a head athletic trainer at Abernathy High School in the fall of 2010 where he worked with the football, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, softball, cross country and track and field programs.
Simpson completed his master's degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health and Science Center in 2010. His final year of his master's program he assisted in the baseball athletic training department during the Red Raiders fifth-place finish in the Big 12 Conference.
During his first two semesters of his master's program, Simpson served as athletic trainer with the Estacado High School football team for the 2008 season and then worked with the Frenship High School baseball program in 2009.
A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in 2006, Simpson is originally from Stephenville, Texas, where he competed and lettered in both baseball (2000-02) and basketball (2002) at Stephenville High School graduating in 2002.
Bryan and his wife, Adriene, were married in December of 2009 and have a son, Logan Koufax, who was born Oct. 30, 2012.
Simpson was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on May 26, 1984.
