Played at Cisco College for two seasons (2011-2012) for head coach David White... in 2012 earned First Team NTJCAC All-Conference... named NJCAA Player of the Week... as a sophomore pitched in relief with a 2-0 record, 0.48 ERA (1 ER allowed) and nine saves in 18.2 innings with 32 strikeouts and 10 walks allowed... also played in 34 games as a position player while batting .341 (30-for-88) with four doubles, four triples, three home runs and 21 RBI with nine stolen bases... NJCAA RANKINGS: 10th in saves (9)... NTJCAC RANKINGS: second in saves (9)... fifth in triples (4)... 14th in batting average (.341)... 19th in stolen bases (9)... three saves came while pitching in multiple innings... posted multiple strikeouts nine times... pitched final nine appearances without allowing an earned run... tallied 10 multi-hit games... hit safely in 12-of-14 games to finish the regular season... helped lead team to a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference championship with a 46-13 overall record and 24-8 league mark... won the NJCAA Region V Tournament title and helped lead program to its first-ever appearance at the NJCAA JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colo... as a freshman played in 15 games batting .304 (14-for-46) with three doubles, one home run and seven RBI... named to the Cisco College Presidents List (2010-12) during both years and named to the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges (2011).
A two-year varsity letterwinner at Amarillo High School for head coach Gary Hix... as a senior pitched 20.6 innings with a 2.04 ERA... also batted .353 with nine doubles, three triples, four home runs, 31 RBI, six stolen bases and 12 walks with a .444 on-base percentage and .586 slugging percentage... earned honorable mention all-district and received the 2010 Gold Glove Award... also earned honorable mention all-district as a junior in 2009 along with being named the athlete of the week twice in 2009 and received the Randy Keller Memorial Baseball Scholarship... played on several elite summer programs, including Elk City Travelers, Oklahoma City Ambassadors and Amarillo Baseball Association Titans... also lettered two years in football (running back)... received district MVP honors as a senior and also earned all-region recognition... received academic all-state honors in both football and baseball in 2009-2010... also participated in National Honor Society for two years.
