Finished the season with a team-best 2.93 ERA and a record of 5-3...logged 70 2/3 innings allowing 23 earned runs, struckout 39 and walked 18...opponents hit .215 against him and he was second the squad with two saves... Logged his first action in over a month against UNLV on March 6th...came out of the bullpen and preserved the shutout by pitching two perfect innings of relief and struckout two...Hynes had not pitched since making three appearances in the Louisiana-Monroe series due to soreness in his shoulder...Picked up a win and a save in the weekend series against UNC Asheville...made two appearances and logged 4 1/3 innings of relief...totaled a 0.00 ERA allowing three hits and struckout two...Made his first career start against Wayland Baptist on March 21st...pitched three shutout innings allowing three hits and struckout two...Earned his second start in less than a week in the series finale at Texas A&M...turned in a stellar performance against the Aggies as he allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings of one point in the game he had retired 15 straight batters before giving up a run in the bottom of the seventh...the run ended his streak of 22 1/3 shutout innings...was robbed of the win as the Tech bullpen collapsed in the bottom of the ninth inning...Improved to 3-0 on the season after pitching his first career complete game against the Baylor Bears on April 1...tied his career high in strikeouts with four...Suffered his first loss of the season against Kansas State on April 14th after giving up nine runs on six hits in 1 2/3 innings...rebounded from that game by pitching three innings of relief to earn his second save of the year against No. 10 Arizona State on April 17th...Pitched his second complete game of the season and faced just five batters over the minimum against Missouri on May 14...allowed just two runs on the day and set a new career-high with six strikeouts...the three hits that he allowed was the fewest by a Tech pitcher in a complete game effort this season.

Played two seasons at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, Texas...coached by Scott Harp and Mark Allen... IN 2005...went 6-3 with a 2.70 ERA with 70 strikeouts...IN 2004...helped lead his team to an NJCAA Regional appearance...went 8-3 with an ERA of 2.96 along with 49 strikeouts...was an All-Conference selection in both 2004 and 2005.

A 2003 graduate of Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Texas...played varsity baseball under coaches Lew Prestidge and Flint Wallace...was an All-District selection in 2003.

Born on June 28, 1985 to parents Randy and Julie Hynes...father Randy is a general contractor and a graduate of San Angelo State...mother Julie is an engineer and also a graduate of San Angelo State...has one brother, Spencer (9)...his father was in professional rodeo while his grandfather and a great uncle played professional football...majoring in Spanish and public relations.
