Saw limited action for the Red Raiders in 2005 as he made just 12 appearances all season long...of those 12 appearances seven were starts...posted a 1-1 record and a 5.94 ERA through 33 1/3 innings of work...allowed 22 earned runs and 31 total runs...issued 27 walks (second most on the team) and five hit batters....struckout 17...opponents hit .292 against him...picked up his first win of the season in relief against Hardin-Simmons as he pitched two scoreless innings and struckout one...IN THE BIG 12...made just three appearances in league play and two starts (against Nebraska on May 14th and Oklahoma on May 22nd)...finished with an 0-1 record and a 4.72 ERA through 13 1/3 innings of work...allowed seven earned runs and 13 total runs...walked 13 and struckout seven...pitched a season-high 6 1/3 innings against Nebraska on May 14th but suffered a tough luck loss as he gave up three earned runs on three hits.

Played under head coach Dave Burroughs...tallied a combined record of 15-3 in his two years there and was a First-Team All-Conference selection...led the region in ERA and at one point threw 24-straight shutout innings...drafted in the 16th round by the Detroit Tigers in the 2003 MLB Draft.

Played baseball and basketball at Newton Senior High School in Newton, Kan...baseball coach was Steve Bacon...was a First-Team All-AVL selection three years...threw a no-hitter his sophomore year in the regional final game...was the league batting champion as a junior with a .527 average.
