2007 SEASON Finished the season as the team's leading hitter with a .322 average and started 51 games (52 total appearances)...tallied 59 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 41 RBIs...IN BIG 12 PLAY: finished as the second leading hitter with a .329 average...28 hits, five doubles, one triple, two home runs and 13 RBIs...picked up the game-winning hit in the season opener for the Red Raiders as his RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted Tech to a 4-3 win over Stephen F. Austin...went 3-for-9 (.333) with two home runs and five RBI in the Red Raider Classic, Feb. 9-12...named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 19 following a stellar week in which the Red Raiders defeated Western Illinois and swept all three games of the Midland College Classic...hit a combined .500 (7-of-14) with three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI, two walks, two sacrifice hits and a 1.143 slugging percentage...won the Home Run Derby at the Whataburger College Classic...belted 10 home runs to surpass Adam Zornes of Rice who hit nine...all contestants were given two rounds with five outs per round...hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Texas Tech to a 9-8 series-clinching win over 16th-ranked Nebraska (March 17)...the home run came with no outs and on a 1-0 count....the walk-off hit was his second of the season...led the Tech offense in the weekend series at Kansas State...hit .545 (6-of-11) with three doubles, four RBIs and drew two walks.
