After playing their first eight games at Dan Law Field, the Texas Tech Red Raiders went on the road for the first time this season and lost 14-4 to TCU. Texas Tech now stands at 6-3 on the season.

The Red Raiders took the early lead in the second inning with a Jason Rainey single to score David O'Keeffe. From there, it was all TCU as they scored 14 unanswered runs. The Horned Frogs scored four in the second, two in third, five in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Texas Tech starter Kevin Tracey suffered his first loss of the season. The right-hander allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks over 2.1 innings to even his record at 1-1. Steve Rowe, Josh Jones, Chad Reynolds and Aaron Tims combined to allow eight runs (six earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings of relief. Reynolds and Tims retired the last seven straight batters to finish the game.

Chaz Eiguren continued to hit the ball well going 3-3 with an RBI. The senior designated hitter has reached base in 11 straight plate appearances. Shaun Larkin scored a pair of runs and finished the game 2-4 with one RBI.

The Red Raiders will be on the road this weekend as they go to Los Angeles to play Long Beach State. Tech will play the 49er's on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Before returning to Lubbock, the Red Raiders will play New Mexico in Albuquerque on Tuesday.
