  • Junior right-hander Collin Auten picked up his Big 12 leading fourth save of the season this afternoon. Auten's four saves is more than any Tech pitcher had all of last season. So far this season, he has logged 11 innings (all in relief) in seven appearances and has posted a 2.45 ERA.
  • Junior left fielder Geoff Byrns extended his hit streak to 11 games with a hit in his final at-bat in the eighth inning. Byrns finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and scored the game winning run.
  • Texas Tech has now won seven-straight games for the first time since April 24-May 7, 2004.
  • Kyle Martin and Roger Kieschnick hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, marking the third time this season that a Tech duo has hit consecutive dingers
