Sophomore right fielder Roger Kieschnick is now just one game away from tying his career long hit streak of 13 games. The Rockwall native went 5-for-5 today and became the first Red Raider in known history to collect five multiple base hits in a single game. The last five-hit game by a Tech player was Cameron Blair against Northern Illinois on Feb. 12, 2005.
Texas Tech has now won nine of its last 10 games and extended its win streak in Albuquerque to four straight.
