LUBBOCK, Texas - Joel Buchenauer went 3-for-5 with four RBI to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 17-11 win over TCU on Tuesday night at Dan Law Field. The win gives Texas Tech a 5-0 mark against TCU this season.

With the win, Texas Tech improves to 14-7 on the season and extends its win streak over TCU to eight games including five straight this season. TCU falls to 6-8 on the season.

Texas Tech sealed the game right from the start as the Red Raiders scored seven runs in the bottom half of the first inning. TCU starter Ryan Grafe loaded the bases with three straight walks to lead off the game and reliever Chris White walked the first batter he faced to give Tech a 1-0 lead. Tech finished the inning with seven runs on two hits and one TCU fielding error.

The Red Raiders outdistanced themselves in the fourth inning scoring four runs on four hits.

TCU mounted a comeback in the top of the eight innings as the scored six runs on poor outings by Tech relievers Brandon Shaw and Matt Lair. Adrian Soto, making just his second appearance of the season, stopped the bleeding for Tech as he pitched the final 1 2/3 innings striking out two batters and allowing one hit.

Nathan Fouts (4-1) picked up the win for Texas Tech while Ryan Grafe (0-1) was charged with the loss.

Texas Tech and TCU will wrap up a two-game set on Wednesday afternoon at Dan Law Field at 3 p.m. Junior Dusty Buck is scheduled to make his second start of the season and second against TCU on Wednesday.
