No. 26 Texas Tech Defeats No. 10 Arizona State, 8-4|

TEMPE, Ariz. - No. 26 Texas Tech scored four runs in the seventh inning and had three players with multi-hit games while defeating No. 10 Arizona State on Tuesday evening at Packard Stadium.
The Red Raiders (10-3) picked up their first win over a ranked non-conference opponent on the road since 2005 and their first over a top-10 ranked non-conference opponent on the road since 2001 with the victory. Arizona State falls to 8-3 overall this season.
After trailing 1-0 after three innings, Tech plated two runs in the fourth to take the lead and added a run in the fifth and sixth innings and tallied four runs on three base hits in the seventh inning.
Tech reliever John Neely (2-1) earned the win pitching three innings and allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk allowed. Neely pitched the middle innings while Tech outscored the Sun Devils 4-0 from the fourth to sixth inning.
Senior Kevin Whitehead went 1-for-1 with two RBI, freshman second baseman Bryant Burleson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and junior first baseman Scott LeJeune hit two doubles and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Bo Altobelli went 2-for-5 with an RBI to lead the Red Raiders at the plate.
Texas Tech will continue its road trip this weekend with a three-game series at No. 26 TCU on Mar. 9-11 at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth.
