Razo Pitches No. 21 Texas Tech To 5-4 Win Over Bobcats|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior Juan Razo pitched eight solid innings and the Texas Tech offense picked up eight hits on the afternoon as the No. 21 Red Raiders dropped Southwest Texas 5-4 on Saturday afternoon in front of 3,230 fans at Dan Law Field.
Southwest Texas (5-13) shortstop Ignacio Suarez led off the game with a triple and later scored on an RBI groundout by Evan Tierce that gave the Bobcats a 1-0 early lead.
Texas Tech (15-5) responded with a run of its own in the bottom of the first when Scooter Jordan scored on a wild pitch after getting a one-out single earlier in the inning and the score was tied at 1-1.
Southwest Texas took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third when catcher Ben Carter tripled to right-center field and was plated on an RBI groundout by Ignacio Suarez.
The Red Raiders took the lead for good in the bottom of the third as Tech plated two runs on two hits. Scooter Jordan scored the first run on a wild pitch and Doug Beck knocked in the second run with a sacrifice fly to left field.
Tech pushed its lead to 5-2 with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
The Bobcats rallied in the top of the eighth by scoring two runs on an Evan Tierce RBI double and a Richard Martinez RBI groundout.
Junior Juan Razo (2-1) picked up the win for Texas Tech after pitching eight innings allowing four earned runs on nine hits along with four strikeouts. Brook Parr suffered the loss for Southwest Texas and falls to 1-2 on the year.
Texas Tech will go for the series sweep on Sunday afternoon when they host Southwest Texas at 1 p.m. at Dan Law Field.
