Today's game marked the fourth all-time meeting between Texas Tech and UNLV. The game was called after the top of the eighth inning due to travel arrangements by the Red Raiders.

Freshman left fielder Roger Kieschnick extended his Big 12 leading hit streak to 13 games when he reached on a single in the top of the first.
Freshman first baseman James Leverton gave Tech a 3-0 lead in the top of the first when he connected on his third home run of the season. The home was his first since Louisiana-Monroe back on Feb. 5.
Jason Seefeld added his second home run of the season in the top of the first. Seefeld's last home run came against Louisiana-Monroe on Feb. 5.
