ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico's Cooper Eddy held Texas Tech to just one run on four hits in seven innings of work to help lead the Lobos to a 4-1 win over the Red Raiders on Tuesday night at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque.

The win drops Texas Tech to 13-6 on the season while New Mexico improves to 3-12-1.

Texas Tech finally broke the scoreless game in the top of the seventh as third baseman Josh Haney led off the frame with a bloop double to shallow left field. Haney moved to third on a groundout by Jacob Jones and later scored on a sacrifice fly from left fielder Cody Fuller.

New Mexico wasted no time taking its first lead of the game as the Lobos scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Center fielder Matt Young put the Lobos in the lead with a two-run triple to left-center and left fielder Garrick Haymore finished off the scoring with an RBI single to left.

Junior left-hander Barrett Pliler suffered the loss in relief for Texas Tech as he gave up two earned runs on three hits in the bottom half of the seventh. Cooper Eddy earned the win for New Mexico as he pitched seven strong innings allowing just four hits and struckout five.

Texas Tech returns home for a three-game weekend series against the Clemson Tigers. First pitch on Friday night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. while Saturday's game has been set for 2 p.m. The series will wrap up at noon on Sunday.
