MANHATTAN, Kansas - Kansas State's Pat Maloney celebrated his 21st birthday connecting on two home runs off three hits to lead the Wilcats to an 8-4 win over Texas Tech in the final game of the series on Sunday. Despite the loss, Texas Tech still claimed the overall series 2-1.

Kansas State scored four runs in the fourth inning and three more in the third to put the game out of reach. Texas Tech scored three runs in their half of the third but Kansas State answered the Tech rally.

Chad Ertel (1-2) suffered his second loss of the season while Luke Robertson improved to 3-3 with the win.

Texas Tech will take on New Mexico at 4 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday in Albuquerque, N.M..
