No. 12 Baylor Defeats No. 23 Texas Tech 3-2 in Big 12 Baseball Action|

LUBBOCK, Texas - No. 12 Baylor used a six-hit complete game from starter Jason Jennings en route to a 3-2 victory Friday evening against No. 23 Texas Tech at Tech's Dan Law Field. The win improves Baylor to 18-6-1 and 6-2 in the Big 12 and drops Texas Tech to 18-9 and 3-3 in the Big 12. Game two of the three game series is tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at Dan Law Field while Sunday's game begins at 2 p.m.
Jennings (5-0) also collected three hits and drove in two RBI at the plate. He went 3-4 with two RBI, pitched the entire nine innings, struck out two and allowed six hits and two earned runs and two walks. He drove in a run in the sixth on a single and then drove in the game winning RBI with a single in the seventh inning.
Texas Tech starter Monty Ward (4-2) allowed eight hits, three runs (all earned), walked six and struck out 10 batters in 6 2/3 innings pitched. Reliever Brad Ralston finished up after pitching the final 2 1/3 innings and struck out four batters.
Texas Tech was held to just six hits and one RBI. The Red Raiders scored both runs in the first inning on three Baylor errors. Keith Ginter reached base on an error by the Bear third baseman and advanced to third on an error by the catcher. Mark Austry drove in Ginter on a ground out. An error by the Baylor centerfielder scored Brennan Burns. Ryan Ruiz led Tech with a 2-3 plate performance while Mark Austry drove in an RBI.
