Recap |  Box Score |  Photo Gallery

  • The series win by Texas marks the second-straight by the Longhorns as they swept all three games in Austin last year. Texas now leads the all-time series 95-33.
  • Chad Bettis suffered his first loss of the season despite pitching 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. The freshman from Lubbock allowed all four runs in the first inning and ended up with five walks and two strikeouts.
  • The Tech bullpen came up big again for the Red Raiders as the Longhorns had a runner on third with less than two outs twice late in the ball game and relievers Owen Brolsma, Robbie Kilcrease and Lorenzo Douglas squashed those rallies.
  • Sophomore shortstop Chris Hall had his 11-game hit streak come to an end today as he went 0-for-4. Wilie Rueda extended his current hit streak to 10 games with an RBI single in the second.
