No. 23 Baseball Defeats No. 12 Baylor, 9-1|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech starter Shane Wright threw his seventh complete nine innning game of his career as the No. 23 Red Raiders coasted to a 9-1 victory Saturday against No. 12 Baylor at Dan Law Field. Tech improves to 19-9 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12 while Baylor drops to 18-7-1 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12. Game three of the three-game conference series is tomorrow, Sunday, at 2 p.m. at Dan Law Field.
Wright (6-1) surrendered nine hits, one walk and one run (one earned) in his nine inning complete game. He struck out seven Baylor batters in 37 batters faced. With the victory, his season earned run average dropped to 2.18.
In support of Wright, Texas Tech found its bats early. The Raiders scored one run the first inning when Keith Ginter walked and was driven in on an RBI single by Josh Bard. Tech added three more runs to go up 4-0 in the second when Jason Landreth tripled and scored on an RBI groundout by Junior Rodriguez. The two other runs came on an RBI double by Brennan Burns after Miles Durham walked and Jason Huth singled. Burns provided two more insurance runs on a two RBI single in the eighth inning.
Burns finished the game with a 3-5 line along with four RBI and a run scored. Josh Bard went 2-5 with an RBI, Mark Austry went 2-4, Miles Durham scored two runs and went 1-3, Jason Huth went 1-2 with two runs along with a key sacrifice bunt in the sixth inning,
