LUBBOCK, Texas - No. 24 Texas Tech completed a midweek doubleheader sweep over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday evening with a 5-1 win in the nightcap at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

The Red Raiders (21-7) improved to 16-2 at home this season while sweeping the Golden Lions (7-17) and limiting UAPB to just one run in 18 innings with Tech pitchers combining for 22 strikeouts and just two walks allowed.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Dylan Dusek (3-0) pitched a season-high seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits without giving up a walk with a season-high seven strikeouts.

Eight Red Raiders paced the offensive attack which finished with 10 base hits, including senior designated hitter Adam Kirsch who went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two doubles and two RBI. Kirsch currently leads the nation with 15 doubles.

Dusek, who allowed just one hit through four innings, got his first run of support in the bottom of the fourth on freshman right fielder Stephen Smith's RBI single up the middle for the first run of the game giving Tech a 1-0 lead.

Dusek finished his fifth start of the season with three of his seven strikeouts in his final three innings of work.

UAPB relief pitcher Samuel Olson (1-2) took the loss allowing two runs - one earned - on three hits in 2.2 innings with three strikeouts and a walk.

Kirsch hit his first double of the game to left field while driving in first baseman Eric Gutierrez, who doubled in the at-bat before Kirsch giving Tech a 2-0 lead. Kirsch came around to score on center fielder Todd Ritchie's RBI single through the left side to continue Tech's two-out rally.

In the seventh, Tech added to its lead when Kirsch doubled to right field as he drove in third baseman Jake Barrios who reached on a bunt base hit earlier in the inning.

Joining Kirsch with multiple hits was junior catcher Hunter Redman who went 2-for-3.

Texas Tech will host No. 12 Texas (20-6, 1-2 Big 12) for its Big 12 home opener, Mar. 28-30, at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The series opener is scheduled for Friday at 6:37 p.m. with the game televised on FOX College Sports.
