Recap |  Box Score |  Photo Gallery

  • Today's win over No. 2 Missouri marks the highest ranked opponent that the Red Raiders have defeated since taking down No. 1 Cal-State Fullerton (11-7) in the 2001 NCAA Regionals on May 27, 2001. The win also marked Tech's first over an opponent ranked in the Top 10 since dropping then 10th-ranked Arizona State 7-2 back on April 17, 2006.
  • Texas Tech has now won two games in the bottom of the ninth in the last six days as the Red Raiders edged UC-Riverside 5-4 on a wild pitch on Monday evening. The last time Tech had a player deliver a game-winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth was Doug Thennis (solo home run) last season in the series finale against then No. 16 Nebraska here at Dan Law Field.
  • Texas Tech's first run of the game marked the first earned run that the Missouri Tigers had given up in Big 12 Conference play this season.
  • Missouri center fielder Kurt Calvert, who went 3-for-3 and scored by Tiger runs, was ejected after the game for arguing with the Big 12 officiating crew. He will miss tomorrow's series finale as a result of that post-game ejection.
  • Missouri leads the all-time series against the Red Raiders 21-18 but Tech snapped a four-game losing skid to the Tigers with today's 3-2 win. The Red Raiders lead the series in games played in Lubbock 11-6.
