LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech used a 4-5, seven RBI performance from second baseman Kevin Jordan to defeat the College of the Southwest 17-2 Tuesday evening at Dan Law Field. The victory improved Texas Tech to 23-11 overall while the College of the Southwest dropped to 1-25.
Jordan finished the day with a three run home, one run double, a two run single and a one run single as he finished 4-5 on the day. He also drove in an individual career high and team season high seven RBI in the game.
Cooper (1-1) earned the victory after pitching the first five innings. He allowed no runs and only one hit in his five innings. Cade Allison pitched the final two innings and allowed three hits and two runs.
Jordan put Tech up 3-0 after a three- run home run in the first inning. Tech went up 4-0 after Jason Landreth scored on a wild pitch. The Red Raiders added four runs in the fourth inning on walks, wild pitches and an RBI single.
Miles Durham finished the game 1-3 with two RBI, Scooter Martines went 1-2 with two RBI, Peter Nelson went 1-2 with two runs scored, Brennan Burns went 1-2, Ryan Ruiz finished 1-1 with two runs scored, Keith Ginter walked three times and scored three times.
