LUBBOCK, Texas - Senior Scooter Jordan went 4-for-4 with two RBI and picked up his first career home run to lead Texas Tech to a 10-4 win over West Texas A&M on a cold Monday night at Dan Law Field.

Texas Tech (21-13) jumped out to a 3-0 lead by scoring one run in the first and two in the second and never looked back.

The Red Raider lead was 7-2 in the top of the seventh but three errors by shortstop T.J. Bruce helped lead to two unearned runs by West Texas A&M and cut the Tech lead to three.

Senior left fielder Scooter Jordan delivered the knockout blow in the bottom of the eighth when he connected on a two-run home run that went sailing over the right field fence. The home run was the first of his career and he finished the night needing a double to hit for the cycle. Travis McElroy plated one more run in the inning with an RBI double to right field scoring Cody Fuller from third.

Jeff Karstens earned the win and improved to 7-1 on the year after pitching five innings allowing seven hits and two earned runs with seven strikeouts. Trey Stice was tagged with the loss for West Texas A&M as he gave up five earned runs in five innings of work.

Texas Tech returns to action on Tuesday night as the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds come to town for a 7 p.m. game at Dan Law Field.
