  • Today's game marked the 32nd meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas. The Red Raiders now lead the all-time series 22-10.
  • The 2-1 series loss to Kansas marks Tech's first series loss against the Jayhawks in Lawrence. Tech came into this series with an all-time record of 9-3 in Lawrence.
  • Texas Tech is still in search of its first road series win of the season and first since 2004. Tech last won (2-1) a Big 12 road series against Oklahoma State May 14-16, 2004 and has now dropped seven straight.
  • Senior third baseman Joey Callender extended his current hit streak to eight games with a leadoff single in the top of the first. The eight-game hit streak ties his career high as he hit in an eight-game stretch between Feb. 19 - March 4, 2005.
  • Freshman center fielder Drew Evans made his 11th start of the season today and picked up his first hit since a midweek game at UNLV on March 7th. He finished the day 2-for-3 with two RBI.
  • Senior center fielder Brian Capps missed all three games of this series after suffering an injury to his right oblique muscle in batting practice on Thursday evening here in Lawrence. Capps is listed as day-to-day and could return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday.
  • With a pair of two-run losses this weekend (both by the score of 5-3), Tech now falls to 4-4 in two-run games this season.
