  • AJ Ramos, the Big 12 leader in strikeouts heading into the game, was pulled with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. Ramos left the game without a strikeout for the first time this season and it marked the first start of his career that he did not have at least one strikeout.
  • Sophomore first baseman James Leverton had his career-high 11-game hit streak come to an end tonight. Leverton went 0-for-4 at the plate and finished with a career-high three strikeouts.
  • Sophomore reliever Brian Cloud pitched a career-high 3 2/3 innings allowing just two hits and struckout four.
  • Junior left fielder Geoff Byrns paced the Tech offense with three hits and it marked his 14th multiple hit game of the season.
  • Roger Kieschnick increased his home run total to nine on the season and needs just one more to give the Red Raiders three different players with double digit home runs.
  • Texas now leads the all-time series against Texas Tech 91-32.
