Baseball Tops Iowa State, 12-2|

AMES, Iowa -- Junior Shane Wright pitched his eighth complete game of the season in leading Texas Tech to a 12-2 victory Friday against Iowa State. The victory improves Texas Tech to 31-13 overall and 11-7 in the Big 12 Conference while Iowa State drops to 12-18 overall and 5-9 in the Big 12.
Wright pitched his 12th complete game of his career. He went the full nine innings and only gave up two runs (one earned run) no walks and 13 hits. He struck out nine Iowa State batters.
Trailing 1-0, Texas Tech tied the game at 1-1 with a run in the third inning on an RBI groundout by Ryan Ruiz. Tech added a run in the fifth on Jason Huth's fourth home run of the season. The Red Raiders went up 4-1 in the sixth when Josh Bard doubled and scored on a throwing error and Mark Austry scored on an RBI single by Miles Durham.
A sacrifice RBI fly by Kevin Jordan drove in Keith Ginter for a 5-2 lead in the seventh and the Red Raiders went up 7-2 with a solo Mark Austry home run and an RBI single by Ruiz. Tech scored five runs in the the ninth inning.
Bard finished the day at 4-5 with two runs scored, Jason Huth went 3-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored, Mark Austry went 2-2 with three runs scored an RBI and two bases on balls, Ruiz finished 2-6 with two RBI and Miles Durham went 1-4 with two RBI.
