LUBBOCK, Texas - Doug Thennis went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Roger Kieschnick picked up his 11th home run of the season as the Red Raiders topped College of the Southwest 9-3 on Monday afternoon at Dan Law Field.

The win moved Tech's overall record to 25-17 while College of the Southwest dropped to 20-23.

The Mustangs actually drew first blood in the contest as they took advantage of a shaky first inning by Tech starter Aaron Odom. Odom gave up a lead off single and a walk that set up an RBI single by Jason Marin that gave College of the Southwest an early 1-0 lead.

Texas Tech evened things up with a solo run of its own in the bottom half of the first. After a leadoff walk by Doug Thennis, junior catcher Matt Smith brought him home with an RBI single to right.

Roger Kieschnick gave the Red Raiders the lead in the bottom of the third when he blasted an inside the park home run to deep center field. The home run was his 11th of the season.

The Red Raiders put the game out of reach with a five run fourth inning. Thennis picked up his first two RBIs of the game with a home run to left field.

Aaron Odom (4-4) earned the win after logging five innings in his eighth start of the season. He allowed two runs on four hits and struckout five. Jesus Rodriguez (0-6) suffered the loss for College of the Southwest as he gave up five earned runs on seven hits over three innings.
