LUBBOCK, Texas - Oklahoma used 14 hits to score 15 runs en route to a 15-1 defeat of Texas Tech Friday at Texas Tech's Dan Law Field. With the loss, Texas Tech falls to 33-17 overall and 13-11 in the Big 12 Conference while Oklahoma improves to 32-13 overall and 12-8 overall.
Oklahoma starter Kevin Oleson (9-0) held the Red Raiders to only five hits in his 7.0 inning complete game. He struck out eight batters and allowed only one earned run and five hits.
Oklahoma put the game away in the second inning when the Sooners scored six runs. Big hits included Jose Montenegro's one-run home run, Justin Elsey's two-RBI double and Derek Wathan's three-RBI triple.
Texas Tech starter Jesse Cornejo (8-4) earned the loss after pitching 6.0 innings. He allowed 13 hits and 14 runs (13 earned runs). The Red Raiders were led by Keith Ginter's 2-3 performance.
