Senior third baseman Carey Avants extended his hitting streak to 11 games as he finished the evening 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Senior shorstop Cameron Blair also extended his hitting streak to 10 games when he laced a two-out triple in the seventh. The three-bagger was his second of the season.
Junior designated hitter Brent Thomas had a career-high four RBI on the night and also picked up his second home run of the season. Thomas' first home run was against Missouri in the Sunday finale of that three-game series.
Texas Tech improved to 10-1 when not committing an error.
Tech gave up just two runs against a hot hitting New Mexico offense and that marks the first time Tech has allowed fewer than three runs in a game since a 1-0 shutout of Texas A&M back on March 19.
Tech garnered just its fourth win of the season (4-11) when being out hit in a game...The Lobos finished with 10 hits compared to eight by the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech ran its overall record in Tuesday games to 6-1.
With three stolen bases tonight, Texas Tech now has 97 total and needs just three more to reach 100 for the third straight season.
