Postgame Notes

  • Texas Tech's five home runs in the game was the second highest total of the season behind the Red Raiders six home runs against TCU on Feb. 29.
  • Junior left fielder Michael Mask tallied his second multiple home run day as he finished the game with two. Mask hit three homers in an 18-6 win over Harvard on March 6.
  • The 19 runs scored by Tech ties the single most runs scored by the Red Raiders in a Big 12 game. Tech scored in 19 runs against Kansas State in 2000 and the score was ironically 19-7.
  • Tech's 17 hits was the most in a Big 12 game since the Red Raiders picked up 17 in the series finale against Nebraska on April 11.
  • Barrett Pliler's five innings of relief was the longest outing of the season for the junior lefty. He didn't allow a single hit and struckout four.
  • Tech's win keeps the Red Raiders firmly in fourth place with fifth place Baylor lurking just 1 ½ games behind.
  • Cameron Blair pushed his hitting streak to 15 games and his streak is currently the longest active in the Big 12.
