STILLWATER, Okla. - No. 13 Oklahoma State scored single runs in the final five innings of the game to take a 6-4 win over Texas Tech in the series opener on Friday evening at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater.

The loss snaps a four-game win streak by the Red Raiders as they fall to 31-21-1 on the season and to 9-14-1 in Big 12 play. Tech's loss to Oklahoma State coupled with Missouri's 6-5 win over Texas drops the Red Raiders back into eighth-place in the Big 12 standings. The Red Raiders have already clinched a berth in next week's Big 12 Championship at Bricktown Ballpark and can't fall lower than eighth place no matter what transpires over the weekend.

Oklahoma State plated the first run of this series in the bottom of the first on a two-out RBI single by Deik Scram. Scram's single to right field scored Keanon Simon who reached on a one-out single and moved to second on a wild pitch by Tech starter Miles Morgan.

The Cowboys added another run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 2-0 lead. Corey Brown, who struckout in his first two at-bats, came through in the clutch and delivered an RBI single to left field that scored Matt Clarkson from second. Clarkson set up the scoring opportunity with a double to right.

The OSU lead grew to 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth as the Cowboys got their two runners on and were moved over on a sacrifice bunt by Ty Wright. Second baseman Shelby Ford plated the run with an RBI groundout allowing Tyler Mach to score from third.

Junior shortstop Kyle Martin ended Gardner's shutout hopes in the top of the seventh when he blasted a two-run home run over the fence in left field. Gardner hit leadoff batter Matt Smith to set up the multiple-RBI opportunity for Martin and the home run was his sixth of the season.

Oklahoma State countered in the bottom half of the seventh on an RBI triple by Shelby Ford that gave the Cowboys a 5-2 lead.

Martin plated the final two runs of the game for the Red Raiders when he connected on his second two-run homer of the game in the top of the ninth. The home run tied his career-high of four RBI and was his second multiple homer game of the season.

Miles Morgan (6-6) took the loss for Texas Tech as he surrendered three runs on nine hits and struckout six over five innings of work. Matt Gardner (6-3) earned the win for OSU by going seven strong innings allowing two runs on four hits.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State will continue this series on Saturday afternoon when the two clubs meet for a 2 p.m. first pitch at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The game will be televised live by Cox Sports Television and will be shown in Lubbock on Cox Cable channel 9.
