GAME 10: #1 Nebraska 2, #8 Texas Tech 1
Nebraska Head Coach Mike Anderson
"Pitching and defense was outstanding tonight. Johnny [Dorn] was exceptional. A couple of times we considered getting left on left match-ups and we chose to stay with him. His pitch count was down. It enabled him to stay in the game and we had confidence in him. That is saying a lot when you are a freshman. We had confidence in him late in the game. I am real proud of our defense tonight. We put ourselves in some real good situations. Our outfield played exceptionally well. The infield played exceptionally well."
Nebraska Pitcher Johnny Dorn
On his performance
"Coach told me to go out there and eat up some innings and try to help the bullpen out. I just tried to go out there and keep our team in the ballgame."
On the play of the defense
"I thought a lot of those balls were going to fall. Our outfield and our infielders were as tremendous as they have been all year."
Nebraska Third baseman Alex Gordon
On breaking through against Tech pitching
"They have pitched to me great in all the games that we have played them. They have been working me inside a lot. Tonight I got a pitch outside that I could extend my hands on and find a gap with it. Joe (Simokaitis) did a great job by scoring on it."
Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays
On the game
"First of all, I want to congratulate Nebraska on a good game. I liked the way we played, I liked the way we pitched and I like the way we competed. Baseball is a tough game. We did not make a couple of plays, but I really liked the way we competed tonight."
Texas Tech Pitcher Tanner McElroy
On the game
"I was just trying to throw strikes. We played well and went out and played our best."
