Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park Construction - Day 176
![]() Scaffolding has been set up for the installation of the shade awning Jan. 23, 2012
LUBBOCK, Texas - Construction at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park is in its 176th day today. Today's photo gallery shows the continued progress on the installation of the windows of the suites and TV booth while working over towards the press box (final two booths above the third-base dugout). The outside panels on the backside of the suites/press box that face the street have also all been assembled. The two large brick columns are finished with the outside railings also up. There continues to be work done on the outside of the stadium as well as on the inside of the suites, press box and TV booths. Several major developments should take place this week. In today's photo gallery you will notice scaffolding set up alongside the area just next to the radio booths/operations booth toward the start of the shade awning that will be put up this week. The awning will be red and will look very sharp at night as the shade awning will glow with the lights shining up. Also being installed this week are the chair-back seats and the tensioned backstop. For fans, this might be the best part of the renovation as there will be zero obstructions for fans in the grandstand who are watching the game through the backstop as no poles will be installed. Keep checking back to the Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park Renovation Page for all updates and photo galleries on the renovation at the Texas Tech baseball stadium. Other Renovation Photo Galleries:
