LUBBOCK, Texas - The 2009 college baseball season is just around the corner and Red Raider fans can now purchase their season tickets for all the action at Dan Law Field through the athletics ticket office or online at www.texastech.com.
The 2009 season will be the first under head coach Dan Spencer and he will guide his troops into action beginning on Feb. 20 in a split-doubleheader against Southern Utah and UT-Pan American. Spencer replaced Larry Hays in July of 2008 when Hays announced his retirement after 22 seasons.
The Red Raiders will play a total of 25 home dates in 2009 including Big 12 series against Texas A&M, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma State. Non-conference matchups include New Mexico, UNLV and a cross-town meeting with Lubbock Christian University.
The athletics department is rewarding fans that purchased football season tickets for 2008 or men's/women's basketball season ticket holders for 2008-09 and who are not currently baseball season ticket holders. Those fans will have the chance to purchase baseball season tickets for the 2009 season at half-price ($62.50).
Season tickets are priced at $125 each and include admission for one to all 25 home dates on the schedule plus any late additions. Fans can also purchase a new ticket package in 2009 called the "Dan Plan" which is aimed for families who love college baseball. For only $100, fans will get 50 vouchers for any non-conference game(s) and can bring themselves to one game and the entire family to the next. You get to pick and choose. The popular Pinch Hitter Packs will be offered again as well and include 16 vouchers to any home game for only $90. Sundays are family days at Dan Law Field. All season, families can purchase four tickets to the Sunday game for only $20 (A&M game $25). This package can be purchased in advance or at the box office the day of the game.
Group tickets will also be available this season for every home game. Prices are $4 for groups of 15-49, $3 for groups of 50-299, and $2 for groups of 300 or more.
