Stephen Hagen leads Tech batting .373 with three homers and 19 RBI

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior first baseman Stephen Hagen was named to the College Baseball Foundation National All-Star Lineup as one of the top 16 players in country, the College Baseball Hall of Fame and Diamond announced Thursday.

Hagen (Lakebay, Wash.), who was also named the Big 12 Player of the Week, batted .500 (9-for-18) with three multi-hit games, including a 5-for-6 performance with two doubles and a home run against then-No. 14 Baylor.

Hagen led Tech to the series victory over the Bears taking two-of-three in Waco. He started the week going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in a midweek game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/15). In the middle game of Tech's series against Baylor, Hagen became the first Red Raider this season with a five-hit game and with three extra-base hits (2 doubles, homer) while scoring three runs and finishing a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

He finished the week going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI against Baylor in the series finale, which Tech won 10-6. Hagen finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and with a .550 on-base percentage.

Hagen is currently leading the team batting .373 (28-for-75) with seven doubles, three home runs and 19 RBI. He leads the team with a .587 slugging percentage and his second on the team with a .484 on-base percentage.
