LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech received its eighth consecutive national ranking today as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association tabbed the Red Raiders No. 30 in this week's national poll.

The Red Raiders (24-11, 5-7 Big 12) went 2-2 last week with a midweek, neutral site win over New Mexico in Midland, Texas, before hitting the road for the third time in Big 12 play and knocking off 20th-ranked Oklahoma State, 16-6, in game two in Stillwater.

The Red Raiders are among the nation's top 30 teams for the eighth straight week according to the NCBWA while checking in at No. 30. Texas Tech has occupied every spot in the poll from No. 25-30 during the regular season in the NCBWA poll.

Tech has been ranked every week of the regular season (Feb. 17-Apr. 7) in the NCBWA poll with its highest ranking at No. 25 (Mar. 10). Tech's highest national ranking this season came at No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches' poll on Mar. 10.

Texas Tech opens an eight-game homestand Tuesday, Apr. 8, hosting Abilene Christian at 6:30 p.m. at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. Later this week, Tech will host Kansas State, Apr. 11-13, for its second home Big 12 series to open the second half of the league slate.
