Tech Set For Battle Against No. 6 Texas
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will get their biggest test of the season this weekend as they travel down south to the state capitol to face the sixth-ranked Texas Longhorns. Texas Tech and Texas will get the three-game series underway beginning at 6:05 p.m. on Friday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The series will resume at 2 p.m. on Saturday and will conclude with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday afternoon. None of the three games will be televised but all will be carried live on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 in Lubbock) with Mark Finkner calling the action. Saturday's game can be heard via Sirius Satellite Radio on Channel 125.

The Red Raiders (22-13) head to Austin on a two-game win streak after taking what turned out to be the series finale against Texas A&M on Friday (8-3) and a 17-6 win over Hardin Simmons on Tuesday night. The third and final game of the A&M series was snowed out and that prompted the Tech coaching staff to add the Tuesday game against Hardin Simmons. Texas Tech will take on College of the Southwest at 3 p.m. next Wednesday (April 18) to makeup the game against TCU that was rained out back in March.

Texas Tech currently sits in fifth place in the Big 12 standings with a 5-6 record while the Longhorns sit atop the league with a 9-3 mark. The Longhorns (28-10) won a three-game series (2-1) over the weekend at Kansas and have yet to lose a Big 12 series this season. Texas's success in the Big 12 is due to the fact that they are the most balanced team in the league as they currently rank second in team batting average (.328), second in team pitching (3.60 ERA) and first in total defense (.978 fielding percentage).

Tickets for the series can be purchased through the Texas Athletics Ticket Office or online at www.texassports.com.
