FIRST PITCH
Texas Tech opens its longest road trip of the season with a midweek series Tuesday and Wednesday at New Mexico. The Red Raiders will now play nine consecutive road games and 14 of its next 20 games on the road. Tech lost its second straight Big 12 series last weekend as the Aggies two-of-three in Lubbock. New Mexico lost two-of-three at TCU and has lost seven of its last eight games overall. Texas Tech will finish the week traveling to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns in a three-game series.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Texas Tech and New Mexico face each other for the 14th consecutive season as a total of 95 games have been played in the all-time series. Tech leads New Mexico 58-36-1 all-time, despite a 20-20-1 tally in Albuquerque. The Lobos won the only meeting last season in Albuquerque (16-8) and have won four of the last six matchups. The Red Raiders have held the overall advantage of late winning 14-of-20 since 2004. Tech has also won five of the last eight meetings in Albuquerque.
