LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior right fielder Jon Weber (Lakewood, Calif.) will not participate for the Red Raider baseball team during post-semester competition after not meeting institutional requirements, school officials announced today.

Weber, a 5-11, 185-pound transfer from Los Angeles (Calif.) Harbor Junior College, is tied for the Big 12 Conference lead in runs batted in with 84 on the season. He leads the team in slugging percentage at .732 and is among the leaders in batting average with a .356 mark. He has played in all 50 games for the Red Raiders this season.

Texas Tech is 39-11 on the season and 17-6 in the Big 12 heading into the weekends three-game series against nationally-ranked Oklahoma State.
