Tech Opens Big 12 Championship Against Oklahoma|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech has earned the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Championship and will open tournament play against No. 2 seed Oklahoma on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The Red Raiders are making their first appearance in the conference postseason tournament since the 2006 season. Additionally, the Red Raiders will go into the tournament as the seventh seed for the first time.
The Big 12 Championship is structured into two pools with the winner of each pool moving to Sunday's championship game. The championship game will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 and will be televised nationally on FSN.
The Red Raiders will have Thursday off and will resume pool play on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. as they take on No. 3 seed Missouri. Tech will play its final game in pool play on Saturday evening against rival (No. 6 seed) Texas A&M.
Texas Tech and Oklahoma will be matched up in the first round of the tournament for the third time in the history of the event with the Red Raiders holding a 2-0 advantage in those games. Tech last opened the Big 12 Championship against the Sooners in 2001 as the No. 2 seed and defeated the Sooners 17-5.
